Like countless Hollywood performers, the name fans match to her face is not the one she was actually born with. Dennings was in fact born Katherine V. Litwack, but decided to adopt a stage name because, in her own words, her family name is "a little hideous". It's easy enough to understand why she changed it from the Jewish homeliness of Witlack to the more forthright and marketable "Dennings", even if some people aren't exactly thrilled about that.
