20 Greatest Ever Superhero TV Shows

6. The Incredible Hulk

Lou Ferrigno. Gallons of green makeup. One pair of strangely indestructible shorts. What's not to love? Lou Ferrigno (and Bill Brixby, to be fair -- he's the one who played Bruce Banner, after all) was not the first incarnation of the giant green superhero with lots of pent-up aggression, but he is arguably the most recognizable. Over the years, Hollywood has struggled to build a film franchise out of the Hulk. The 2002 film may have been psychologically interesting, but it failed to engage audiences, and the 2008 adaptation with Edward Norton made money but left the fanboys cold. In recent years, he's only really worked as part of a larger ensemble, like when he appeared in The Avengers. Could that be because they're struggling to live up to the iconic 1978 series? Well...probably.
