20 Greatest Ever Superhero TV Shows

12. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Whatever drug-addled mind produced the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, we owe them a debt of gratitude. They're a bunch of turtles with superpowers, a serious pizza addiction, California surfer stereotype accents, and the names of several prominent Renaissance artists. Any producer who couldn't see that this was going to be a huge hit was clearly a blind idiot. In all seriousness, you never know what sort of weird thing is going to catch on, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a bit like catching lightning in a bottle. No one can really explain why it's so awesome, and you couldn't replicate it if you tried (as the most recent film adaptation of the show can attest to). But you've got Uncle Phil from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air as the bad guy, and that goes a long way.
