18. Jessica Lange Turned Down Constance
American Horror Story wouldnt be what it is without Jessica Lange, and she nearly wasnt in the show. When the first season was still at the casting stage creator Ryan Murphy had identified Lange as the woman he wanted to play Constance. She didnt agree though and turned down the role. Not to be rejected so easily, Murphy repeatedly offered her the role until she accepted it. Lange has even admitted that she doesnt really get TV or how it works and that she only got involved in the show because Ryan Murphy sweet-talked her into it. She also says she jumped in blindly, but thank God she did!
