2013 Emmy Predictions - Drama

Best Lead Actor

boardwalk empire This is a tough category to predict, jam packed with so many great actors and performances that I'm sure even my best prediction could very likely be wrong. However, I'm still going to make it. Bryan Cranston, of Breaking Bad, seems unlikely to win due to the fact that he has already won this award, deservedly, three times. Damian Lewis of Homeland was last year's winner, but he seems unlikely to get it due to the drop in quality of his show. He did very well this season, but the quality of script does affect how the scene influences the audience and I don't see him winning it again this year. Steve Buscemi has always done an excellent job with his performance of Nucky Thompson in Boardwalk Empire and that will definitely garner him a nomination and a real shot at winning. Jon Hamm, of Mad Men, did a great job at making Don Draper fall apart right in front of us, never afraid to go too far. He's been nominated several times and has yet to win, but it does feel like it could also be his year. Kevin Spacey gave a wonderful performance on House of Cards this year, and even though I have my doubts, the chance that he could win is there. It really is a hard category for me and I really can't make a definitive guess. My Prediction: Jon Hamm, Steve Buscemi, or Kevin Spacey Nominations: Jon Hamm, Mad Men Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad Kevin Spacey, House of Cards Steve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire Damian Lewis, Homeland Hugh Bonneville, Downton Abbey

I'm a student and I'm doing this because I love it. I love writing and talking about the interesting things on television. I'm crazy about Game of Thrones and Mad Men.
