Who? Danny Boyle (director); Donald Sutherland, Hillary Swank, Brendan Fraser.
What? The story of the abduction of Getty III in Italy, 1973.
Why? John Paul Getty III is a hot topic in the news currently, for reasons both good and bad, thanks to Ridley Scott’s All The Money In The World. However, it’s not going to be the only version of the story we get, with Danny Boyle bringing his Deep Impact to Scott’s Armageddon. This one, however, will take the view that Getty III actually abducted himself. It’ll be an interesting contrast to All The Money, and is a fascinating story in its own right anyway. The cast and director are pretty impressive too.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
