Who: Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen (developed by); Karl Urban, Elisabeth Shue, Simon Pegg
What: Based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes actually embrace the darker side of their celebrity, and a group of vigilantes - the titular Boys - attempt to take down the corrupt heroes.
Why: Anything based on the work of Ennis is going to be worth tuning into, and The Boys represents some of his best work on the page. Since it's on a streaming service, there shouldn't be any problems with regards to getting the tone right, meaning this should be gloriously violent, weird, and entertaining.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
