There are instances where he shows sympathy and even empathy towards his guests, but it's worth asking how much he actually does care. People often refer to him by the nickname "Jezza" and it's this that can make people believe he is their friend. Friends give each other amusing and informal monikers. But Jeremy isn't your friend. He's a shrewd talk show host with a reputation and TV ratings to think about. Sure, he sends alcoholics off to rehab to help them clean up and he reveals the truth through lie detector tests, but the sincerity he displays is for the cameras and members of the audience only. His soft-hearted nature only shines through for the fleeting moments the guests are there. By calling him Jezza, you're instilling a personal connection with him that just isn't there. Whether a guest or viewer, he will only show sympathy for as long as his pockets are kept well-lined with the profits of people's misery. I mean, he's not going to add guests to his Facebook list when the cameras are turned off, is he?
