5 Reasons Why You Should Be Watching Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 5

The Clone Wars is the best thing to come since the movies...

The Clone Wars isn't centered around Anakin's eventual downfall, it's about showcasing the events of the war, and characters that wouldn't have been center-stage compared to the movies. Characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cad Bane, Rex and Savage Opress. The show gives its universe space to breath, and the chance to explore complex mature stories like the moral ambiguity of being a clone, forced since birth to serve in the army. Currently the state of the Clone Wars is about to become more complicated, as the discovery of a believed to be dead Sith lord Darth Maul and his brother Savage Opress, are about to unleash themselves onto the galaxy. This season bears the potential to be the best overall in The Clone Wars entirety, and am going to explain why.

5. The Rise Of The Mandalorians

The Mandalorians are an important part of the Star Wars universe, a fact any Boba Fett fan will agree with. To understand the concept of what makes them special, you could compare their philosophy and mindset to Spartans, as they fought and conquered planets for honor an glory. The Mandalorians have proven throughout their history they are honorable and ferocious fighters, even capable of taking on Jedi, a testament to their skills and mental prowess. In the timeline of the Clone Wars, their home planet has seen them evolve from their old ways, becoming completely democratic, but a terrorist group called the Death Watch seeks to regain their warrior past. Pre Vizsla, the leader of the Death Watch is seeking to overthrow Duchess Satine Kryze, considering her and Mandalore's new ways an insult to the name Mandalorian. His ill-moral opinions and actions towards those that stand in his way are horrendous, showing he'll go to any lengths insure his dream. With the resurrection of Darth Maul, it was only a matter of time before he sought a power base of his own, the Death Watch providing a potential place to work with. It's not the first time Mandalorians have teamed up with the Sith, having a deep history of fighting alongside another, so it would come to no surprise if the megalomaniac Vizsla accepts the aid of the Sith brothers. There is no delusions of success on the Mandalorians rise to power, but this civil war could have dire ramifications to the people of Mandalore.
