I really like your site but articles like this annoy me. First of all, listing women in some order of attractiveness makes you look like archaic, stuck-in-90′s lad culture, drooling oafs.
Despite covering the kind of topics (games, movies, wwe etc) that are predominantly aimed at men, I’ve never thought of Whatculture as being an exclusively male website, will you be doing a top 50 sexiest males as well?
I read your articles because they provide information about topics I am interested in, therefore providing a service. This article seems to say “Hey Guys! Why not masturbate over these girls?” and very little else.
Secondly, using the words “…you’ve probably never heard of” is incredibly condescending towards your readership. It’s suggests some kind of cultural superiority on your part, as if you have an all-encompassing knowledge that us, the lowly reader, can only dream of having.
WhatCulture has always, to me, had an inclusive, welcoming “made by us, for people like us” sort of vibe. By suggesting that your readers “won’t have heard of” certain things is an insult to our intelligence, and our knowledge.

Appreciate the feedback Tommy and we regret that we annoyed you. Certainly wasn’t our intention but we appreciate the feedback as this kind of list was something new for us and depending on what you guys make of it, will very much decide whether we do any more similar lists. I’m not sure I entirely agree that the list reverts us back to a 90′s time warp when sites like IGN and others annually do several similar lists but I won’t argue against your opinion.
In terms of why the list is female centric, it is simply the fact that most of the What Culture writers are male. About 95% of them. I would happily run the same list of the male equilivant if one of more of our female writers wanted to put one together. I’d be delighted to run that actually.
The reason why we want with the probably never heard of title was more to point out that our selection of women wouldn’t usually get on similar lists like Megan Fox, Kirsten Stewart, Cheryl Cole and others would. We could have gone with 50 Sexiest Women Who Usually Don’t Make Top 100 Lists but I’m not sure it would have been as enticing to read.
Anyway Tommy, I really hope you stick around with us and continue to read our site. Unfortunately with the vast amount of topics and subjects we cover, there is bound to be some articles that don’t interest everyone but we will listen to our audience and if this kind of list is not wanted, we will cease to do them in the future.

Are you serious!?! Tommy, you really need to stop trying to read into “throw away” comments. That description simply makes reference to the fact that these women are not A-list celebrities who’s names are not known by the masses. You must have far too much free time on your hands if you actually had the time to let that article title offend you.
ANd speaking of being offended, it seems like more and more people constantly search out reasons to be offended. You’re offended by the “…never heard of” comment and you’re offended by making a list of beautiful women. You say its “90′s lad culture”, yet these lists are done yearly by just about every magazine in existence. And then the lists are covered by shows such as Inside Hollywood and Extra which are predominately watched by women. These shows also spend lots of time commenting on the beauty of women. So to say this is “archaic and stuck in the 90′s” is just not true. With the way obesity it spreading across America (35.7% of American adults are obese), we should take the time to praise these people who actually care enough about themselves to keep their bodies in good shape. I notice more and more people getting offended by “beauty lists”. It makes me think that obese people dont like seeing beautiful people who dont eat fast food for all 3 meals.
Theres nothing wrong with commenting beauty. Everyone loves to be told they’re sexy/beautiful, so I dont know why people like you get offended by stuff like this.
If you are really a male (not pretending to be one so you can complain about the list), would you not feel good about yourself if you were listed as one of the top 50 sexy/handsome men in whatever industry you’re in? I know I would.
There is nothing offensive about this list or the title of the list. Stop trying to find something to be offended about. If the first thing you thought about was people masturbating to the pictures, maybe you have the problem. I know I was able to scroll through all 50 pictures without thinking about masturbating. And the list is NOT just “female centric”, it’s APPEARANCE centric. This is not a list of 50 awesome women, 50 talented women, 50 women outstanding in their industry/area of expertise. You focus on their looks, which is pretty vain and low and, as Tommy K said, seems to be there to say “Hey Guys! Why not masturbate over these girls?” and very little else.

How about, oh I don’t know, you write a list that doesn’t focus on just the looks of people? I’m positive that even though 95% of your writers are male, they can manage to write something that isn’t just “Phwoar, look at her!” x 50.

We do hundreds of lists a year about why people are talented, etc. We went for something different and obviously appreciate the feedback but you guys are blowing it way out of proportion.
A lot of the comments underneath the pictures do highlight why the girls are talented. It is written lightheartedly, nothing obscene has been said about any of them.
Also, ive received positive feedback from a few of the women on the list and they don’t see any problem with it, they quite liked it and re-posted the article.
I can understand the whole sexism thing but its also ok to have fun occasionally.
This is pretty lame, you don’t talk about the girls as talented when you spoke about a ‘sexy C4 presenter’, that was not about her presenting skills, more about how she looked.
It is these kinds of articles that prove that websites like this shouldn’t exist, and writers like you shouldn’t be getting any recognition from this.

Good list Amarpal, absolutely nothing wrong with something light hearted, it’s all in the name of fun and hardly offensive, if anything it’s a massive compliment to be included on such a list, everyone likes to be apreciated.
