6 Reasons You Should Be Watching Silicon Valley

HBO's new comedy is a must see!

I know it's what we've all been waiting for with bated breath: speculating around the water cooler, seeking out every scrap of promotional material we can, and "borrowing" people's HBO Go passwords. Yes, this past Sunday saw the premiere of the first episode of HBO's new comedy Silicon Valley, from the people who brought you King of the Hill, Veep and Beavis and Butthead. With a zeitgeist-y premise - a young developer stumbles across some fancy algorithm that sends two tech companies into a bidding war, amongst the app-crazy LA tech scene - and an ensemble cast featuring some of the hottest up-and-coming comedians working today, Silicon Valley is almost preordained to be a hit. Or at least I hope so, because based on the pilot the show has the potential to be both hilarious and bitingly satirical, with a look into the corporate culture of the industry that keeps us in faddy iPhone applications, and I strongly advise you get in on the ground floor lest you get left behind like those potential early Apple investors who thought the two Steves were trying to sell them Granny Smiths (story possibly apocryphal/totally made up).
