6 TV Shows That Prove "Season 2" is the Best

6. F.R.I.E.N.D.S (1995-1996)

Friends is not only one of my favorite sitcoms of all time but is also one of my favorite shows of all time too. In fact, even though I now am watching roughly 25 fictional shows currently on air, there was a time when I would only watch a couple, and those shows were Friends and The Simpsons. I have probably seen every episode of Friends roughly 10 times in repeats over the last 15 years or so and even though I know every joke and by now pretty much every line I still find the show hilarious everytime I watch it. There are not that many sit-coms that I can say that about today, even my most favorite American sit-coms currently on air (30 Rock, The Office, Modern Family). Because I was only 5 when this Season first aired I watched it much later than this, probably roughly 5 years later in repeats. Because of this I find it very difficult to know when one season starts and the other season ends, but in doing my research I have found that Season 2 is certainly the greatest in Friends history. First of all, Season 2 starts with the cat out of the bag. Rachel knows Ross loved/loves her, but he is now with someone new (Julie) and Rachel has only just realized she has strong feelings for Ross. We want them to get together and have done from the very beginning, and now it is Rachel who is in a similar position that Ross was in in Season 1. Seven episodes into this season we have one of the most iconic moments in TV ever, the episode where Ross finds out Rachel likes him and he decides to end things with Julie. He finds Rachel at Central Perk coffee shop and kisses her finally. But the drama doesn't end here. The next episode Rachel finds a list Ross wrote describing Rachel's pro's and con's in an attempt to choose between Julie and Rachel, and because she is so upset about this she decides she no longer wants to be with him, again, jumping straight back to a will they won't they situation. They do however finally get back together nearer the end of this season when Rachel is shown a Prom video from the characters past where Ross is shown to have had really sweet and loving feelings for Rachel even then. If you are not a big Ross and Rachel fan however, this was also the season of Monica and Richard (Tom Selleck) and also guest stared Julia Roberts and Charlie Sheen. Overall, a fantastic season of television.

I am a recent Screenwriting for Film and Television graduate from the UK. I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
