7 Reasons Rachel Is An Utterly Horrible Character In Friends

6. The One Where She Gets Ross' Girlfriend Bonnie To Shave Her Head So He'd Dump Her

After having dumped Ross when she finds out he slept with another woman (remember that part) when the pair had temporarily broken up, Rachel's friend Phoebe asks her if she can sets Ross up on a date with her friend Bonnie, to which Rachel initially agrees after being told she is bald €“ nice. However, jealously soon creeps in when she sees Bonnie has a full head of hair and is very attractive. Rachel schemes to get Ross drunk to get with him when all the friends go to a beach house, as Bonnie isn't initially able to make it €“ once again showing a lack of care for a man being in a relationship, despite her apparent hatred for cheaters. The pair flirt with each other, but Bonnie shows up later on to ruin Rachel's plans. But after going on a swim Bonnie complains about the sand being in her hair, and adding how much 'easier it was being bald,' so Rachel suggests she shaves it all off €“ which she strangely does without telling anybody else. After Ross finds out it was Rachel who put her up to it, he's both repulsed by Bonnie's new-look and angry at Rachel, but later changes his mind as Rachel says she did it because she's in love with him. So that's fine then. I mean, the only option is to have somebody's girlfriend shave their own hair isn't it? Rather than just speak to Ross about it all, which she ended up doing anyway. How manipulative is it to do such a thing regardless of the reasons behind it. As the audience are again told to laugh it off, but it distracts from the fact Rachel has attempted to have her ex cheat on his new girlfriend for her, despite dumping him for being an apparent cheat, and when that initial plan failed, she meddled and had his girlfriend shave all her hair. Staggering.
