8 Ways Better Call Saul Can Bring Breaking Bad Characters Back

8. Gus Fring

Likely one of the first characters on everyone€™s mind, the ruthless, soft-spoken drug kingpin/restaurateur may have come to an end via exploding wheelchair at the climax of Breaking Bad Season 4, but there€™s still so much that remains unclear about the enigmatic Chilean expat. What about his past, for instance, led Don Eladio to spare his life, but not that of his partner, when he sort to set up operation in Mexico in 1989? Better Call Saul has already reintroduced us to one character known to have a close professional relationship to Gus, namely current toll booth operator/future enforcer Mike Ehrmantraut. How Mike went from being a washed-up ex-cop to someone whose duties include staging crime scenes is less clear, but if an enterprising Gus were looking to expand his business north of the border, he could do a lot worse than to seek out a man like Mike. While Gus€™ iconic Los Pollos Hermanos chain is yet to make an appearance in the show, it and he would seem to be well-established in the community by the time Walt enters his life in Breaking Bad Season 2. Nevertheless, having been such a major figure on the preceding show, and with such an intense and iconic sendoff, it€™s unlikely that Gilligan and Co. will be in any immediate hurry to bring The Chicken Man to town.
