8 Awesome Game Of Thrones Moments Not In The Books

Score one to the illiterates.

Despite the twists and turns and emotional devastation, most who ever braved Westeros have now undoubtedly seen all 40 episodes by now - possibly multiple times in fact - and most of them will also be watching the season 5 trailer every day for the next month, as if somehow it might bring April around sooner. For fans of the books, 40 hours really isn€™t all that much of an achievement. Some have lost a year of their lives ploughing through the 1,314,000 words dedicated to Westeros, and will no doubt feel even further invested in George RR Martin's universe. As with any novel adaptation, those fans will inevitably fuel the discussion over what events, characters and details the show either got wrong or missed out entirely. What you don€™t hear so much about are the little jewels that bloom in their transition to the big screen, from the full blown brand new scenes to the minor subtleties that can change a storyline entirely in plain sight. The reason for that is that those who have taken the time to read the books will almost certainly have watched the show, but those who have watched the show won€™t necessarily have read the books. So as millions chew over the trailer for season 5 and gear up for what promises to be another devastating and addictive season, here€™s a little reminder of some truly brilliant moments that did not appear in the novels, and moments when the TV show even surpassed the books.
