8. We Will Be On The Rebound
Let's face it, even though the show has lost some of what made it awesome in the latest seasons, we're all getting graduation goggles now it's coming to a close. Just like Marshall suddenly loves his job the minute he decides to quit working for Goliath National Bank in The Exploding Meatball Sub, we can suddenly overlook all How I Met Your Mother's imperfections, the poor writing, the cheap jokes, and tell ourselves we don't want it to end. And when it does finally finish this season, we're going to be looking for something to fill that big HIMYM shaped whole in our lives and the obvious choice would be the spin-off. In our fragile state, we may end up looking for companionship at any cost, even if they're not right for us. So How I Met Your Mother fans may end up jumping on the readily available How I Met Your Dad bandwagon not because it's a great show but because we miss HIMYM and How I Met Your Dad will be there to take advantage of our needy and vulnerable disposition. And what happens to most rebound relationships? They eventually fizzle out because they were never meant to be...
