8 Reasons The Walking Dead Season 5 Is The Best So Far

The Walking Dead has had its ups and downs, but could it finally reach its true potential?

The hit show from AMC The Walking Dead is several episodes into season 5 and the buzz is already incredibly positive. It's perhaps not surprising after that incendiary opening episode, which really threw audiences in at the deep end and has been justly described as one of the best season openers for any TV series. That said, throughout the previous four seasons, The Walking Dead has not been all smooth sailing, and it's fair to say that over the last fews years there have been a few lowlights along with the highlights. Season 2 in particular came in for a lot of criticism - it might have introduced some of the show's favourite regular characters such as Hershel Greene and his daughters Beth and Maggie, but it had more than a few moments where the pacing felt as lumbering as a particularly lethargic Walker. If the first four episodes of the currently airing season 5 are anything to go by, however, it seems that The Walking Dead might have finally found its stride, clearing up some of the problems which have plagued the show in the past. It's too early to say for sure whether or not this season will indeed be the best one yet, but all the signs are pointing in the right direction. Here are 8 reasons which suggest that, if things carry on the way they have been, season 5 could turn out to be the best season of The Walking Dead so far. Fingers crossed our predictions are on the money. It goes without saying, we're about to enter heavy spoiler territory, so read on only if you're up to date with the series.
