8. What’s Going On With Phillip?
Seriously, just what is going on? We see him sketching deaths in his book, but then this angle is dropped as he gives Bill his ‘blessing’ to date. They are best boyfriends, after all.
His terrible performance on Hobo Jojo was predictable (though still funny), but could it be the jumping off point for Season 4’s storylines? He’s shown pulling his eyebrows out due to stress, but the only payoff is seeing him half bald after Hobo Jojo screws him and Maureen over. Will he become more psychotic next season?
The writers already seem to have figured out that he needs a rework. Younger brother Anthony became the annoying character this time around because you know what? You know what? You know what? It was getting a little old having it always be Phillip.
If this trend continues, Phillip will need to have a new gimmick. The sweet boy who grows up in a hugely dysfunctional home definitely has the groundwork laid for him to stop repressing his violent tendencies so much as he enters puberty. He’s quickly becoming the most developed side character, and that looks set to continue.
