7. Boy Meets World: Did Mr Turner Pull Through?
Anthony Tyler Quinn's Mr Turner was the teacher we all wish we had. He was a major influence on the kids in Boy Meets World, and Shawn Hunter even lived with him for a while. So why he simply disappeared on the show is one of U.S. TV's great mysteries.
The seventh and final series of ABC's coming-of-age drama brought the curtain down with the character's fate unaddressed. The last time the fans saw him, he was lying in a hospital bed after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle crash.
For many years, nobody knew whether the mulleted educator pulled through or died as a result of his injuries. Only when spinoff series Girl Meets World came along 14 years later was it revealed that Mr Turner recovered and married a nurse who cared for him at the hospital.
Although this burning question was answered eventually, Boy Meets World still qualifies as a show which left a massive unresolved issue behind, because the showrunners had no way of knowing there would be a spinoff all those years later.
