Agent Carter: 10 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

10. A Stark On Capitol Hill

The first episode opens with Carter and the rest of the SHIELD office called into the briefing room €“ after a brief dip into the Mad Man-style workplace sexism the only female field agent has to contend with €“ to watch a news reel clip about the supposed treason being committed by Howard Stark. Like father, like son. There's a lot of similarities between Howard and his son Tony, later to become Iron Man, on show in this show so far. He's a billionaire playboy who has a predilection for drinking and €œentertaining€ of female guests at one of his many fancy homes, but that's not all they have in common. The short scenes on the news reel of Howard being interrogated on Capitol Hill about the prospect of his technology falling into enemy hands (either on the black market or sold by Howard himself) recall identical scenes in Iron Man 2, where Tony was questioned by Congress on much similar lines.
