Agent Carter: Ranking The Characters Worst To Best

9. Jack Thompson

Played By: Chad Michael Murray With the show's focus on the idea of Peggy having to prove herself in the male-dominated SSR, Thompson began the series serving as the face of everything trying to hold her down. Stubbornly sexist to a pretty clear degree, it took a number of episodes until the war hero's frustratingly chauvinistic facade finally veered away from falling into caricature territory, with the reveal about his covering up of his murder of surrendered enemy soldiers going a long way in informing his character in Peggy's - and the audience's - eyes. Despite coming to respect Peggy by season's end even as he had to steal every ounce of her thunder to replace Dooley as the branch's new Chief, Thompson still came out the season as its weakest major player. Even with the interesting twist on his character, his personality hardly popped in ways that other characters did, but hopefully his return in the second season can use his elevated role in the SSR and positive dynamic with Peggy to continue building him into someone far more engaging.
