The Simpsons and Family Guy have dominated the cartoon world for decades now with appeal to all ages, gaining an astonishingly large fan base. The success of these shows are only rivaled by each other in popularity when it comes to cartoon comedy. With such success both creators then turned their attention to their next creations in American Dad and Futurama.
Whilst neither American Dad or Futurama hit the heights of Family Guy and The Simpsons they have still had their fair portion of success and had a good following and fan base also. A large part of that success can be credited to the main protagonists of each show being Stan Smith, the all round american C.I.A agent who has a knack for getting a bit carried away in his endeavours, and Phillip J. Fry, the pizza boy who accidentally froze for one thousand years just to become an intergalactic delivery boy.
