6. It's A Timely, Thought-Provoking Social Satire

It'd be easy for a show like this to simply wrap a scatalogical joke around a glossy documentary format and call it a day, but as we know, American Vandal is a far more nuanced and socially conscious show than that.

Season two ramps up the social satire and commentary considerably, riffing on the toxic power of social media, the police, the interplay between sports and academia, race, white privilege, Internet trolls and much more.

That it hits every single one of these targets without feeling on-the-nose or like it's standing on a soapbox is all the more impressive: it's woven tightly into the fabric of the story and the characters within it.

And while the satire does indeed provoke laughs, ultimately you'll probably find its indictment of today's tech-centric culture to be more unsettling than funny.
