Arrow: 10 Characters Who Should Join Season 5

Here's hoping some of these names join the world of the Emerald Archer next season.

Arrow Nightwing
The CW/DC Comics

By the time Arrow's fourth season came to a close, it seems as if the landscape underwent a major change for Oliver Queen. With Team Arrow's Spartan and Speedy deciding to step away from the life of heroism, and with Ollie himself now Mayor of Star City, changes is on the way.

Season 5 has already been confirmed to feature DC's Vigilante and Wild Dog, but there's still plenty of room to bring in some other new characters as The CW's Emerald Archer show gets ready for its next season.

Arrow made a name for itself during its first three seasons by giving us very real, street-level characters with no superpowers to be seen from any of the show's main players. When The Flash launched, that changed the game for The CW's DC world as meta-humans were thrown into the mix. Going even further, Arrow's fourth season then followed that up by bringing magic onto the scene.

Even as a huge fan of the series, it has to be said that last season was a mixed bag at best for Arrow, with the island flashbacks dull and boring, whilst the magic totem aspect of the present-day left a lot to be desired even if Neil McDonough was fantastic as Damien Darhk.

As the show gets ready for Season 5, here's 10 characters who can help Arrow steady its ship and up its game.

10. Big Game

Arrow Nightwing
DC Comics

After his father, the original Big Game, was killed by Cupid, this villain decided to take it upon himself to track down Green Arrow and Black Canary.

Also known simply as Blake, the second Big Game is a man on a mission. He originally came across the Emerald Archer and Canary in Africa, then followed them back to Star City to get some semblance of revenge.

As to what he brings to the table, Big Game is a master huntsman with impressive strength. He has no real standout powers, just that he’s a determined sort with a grudge and with some great tracking skills. In that way, he’s a little like a poor man’s Kraven (he of Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery).

Big Game is undoubtedly a minor villain, but he could easily be put into the mix on Arrow as someone who Ollie has encountered previously and who now turns up in modern-day Star City with a grudge against Oliver Queen and/or the Green Arrow. Even more than this, considering Arrow has already introduced Cupid into The CW’s DC world, any use of Big Game could be tied to Carrie Cutter and her obsession with the Green Arrow.
