7. Will Deathstroke's Appearance Be Another One-Off?

Arrow Season 5 Finale Questions

In an effort to even the odds against Talia al Ghul and Chase, Oliver has recruited Slade Wilson to fight alongside him and help save Team Arrow. Considering that Manu Bennett's Deathstroke hasn't shown up since season 3, it would seem that the showrunners have plans for the character beyond just a one-off appearance.

With Deathstroke being locked up since the season 2 finale, why is now the right time to let him out? There will likely be some moments where Oliver discusses whatever kind of deal he made with Slade so that the two could work together. Depending on what the deal between the two ends up being, viewers could be seeing a lot more Deathstroke in season 6.

While the decision to potentially bring back Deathstroke as a villain for a second time around (because there's no way his partnership with Oliver will last) may end up feeling like a retread of season 2, forcing the character of Slade Wilson to remain in the shadows forever isn't the right decision either.

Whether they turn him into a permanent good guy/bad guy like Malcolm Merlyn or just kill him off, there needs to be closure for the Green Arrow's greatest adversary. Now that he's finally out of the shadows, it's time he's utilized properly.
