Arrow Season 7: What Does The Ending To ‘Lost Canary’ Really Mean?

2. Laurel Has Gone Back To Earth-2 (But She Isn't Gone For Good)

Arrow Season 7 Episode 18 Sara Laurel Lance
The CW

Laurel went through quite the emotional rollercoaster in 'Lost Canary' as she struggled to figure out just who she really was. Thanks to an intervention by some fellow birds, she realised that she was no longer the criminal known as Black Siren nor was she their beloved Laurel Lance of Earth-1.

The truth is that she's somewhere in between and, following a conversation with Sara, she realised that the only way to figure out what she truly wanted was to stop running from her past.

Opening up about her plans to do just that, she revealed that she was heading home to Earth-2 - but not before Felicity gave her a parting gift: Earth-1 Laurel's Black Canary costume. With that, she hugged her friend and departed the show. Thankfully, however, she won't be gone for long.

Speaking to TVLine, Arrow executive producer Beth Schwartz discussed Laurel's apparent departure, confirming that we hadn't seen the last of Katie Cassidy Rodgers on the show. She revealed:

"Katie does not leave the show; she comes back this season... It appears like [she leaves], but it’s not true. She’s still [part of the show]."

It's a good thing that she'll be sticking around because it seems like things are set to get even more interesting for Laurel from here on out...
