11. Choosing The Colossal Titan
Although Levi's team lost Reiner to Zeke Yeager and the Cart Titan, they did score a major win by taking Bertolt captive. However, they now had to choose which soldier would become the new carrier of the Colossal Titan, which turned out to be far more difficult than anyone in the team could imagine.
The group originally wanted Armin to take the power, but once Erwin was found to be alive the choice became a battle between comrades. With the sole decision of who would be injected with the titan serum in the hands of Levi, it looked like he might pick the Commander. However, he shocked everyone by choosing Armin instead.
In an emotional admission, Levi explained that he didn't pick Armin because he was a better leader than Erwin. Instead, he chose Armin because he believed that Erwin had already been through enough in this world and that it was time for him to rest.
In a show that is full of sad and tragic moments, giving a character like Erwin the chance for peace after fighting for so long was a beautiful change of pace.
