Batman Cowl Not since the campy, overacted 1960's television adaptation has Batman had the chance to have his story told in a live-action series. While a few great cartoon adaptations and many hit-or-miss live-action films have been produced, The Dark Knight still hasn't had the chance to shine on the small screen. With successes like Arrow and previously Smallville, it's been proven that DC's characters have what it takes to make for great tv. Even lesser known members of Batman's family have been given a chance such as in 2002's Birds of Prey and the upcoming police procedural that will focus on James Gordon in a Gotham before Batman. What fans and regular viewers need, however, is a series that will give Bruce Wayne the spotlight. No masked hero is as intriguing as the Caped Crusader and his rogues gallery of colorful criminals. Gotham City owes its enchantment to Batman for without him and villains such as the Joker, Poison Ivy, and Two-Face it would be just another city wrecked by trigger-happy, money-hungry crime bosses. Christoper Nolan's film trilogy speaks volumes about the success of this character and it's time his story be given a new medium.
