17. Sara Beats Her Mother, Runs Away - Arkangel
Mother Marie (Rosemarie DeWitt) tries to control her daughter Sara's life too much in Arkangel, leading to her to intervene and scare her boyfriend away when she discovers Sara is engaging in underage sex and experimenting with cocaine.
While these actions were relatively understandable, Marie goes too far when she slips Sara a pregnancy terminating drug without her knowing. This pushes Sara over the edge. She bludgeons her mother in the face and then runs away from home.
It's a cruel development for a mother who was only ever trying to keep her daughter close to her but, again, it's not one of Black Mirror's biggest jaw-dropping moments.
