Black Mirror: Ranking Every Episode From Worst To Best
6. Men Against Fire
In a post-apocalyptic world, the American military is on a mission to wipe out "roaches" - ravenous zombie types. But when one soldier is struck with a strange light, he begins to see the world very differently.
It is surprising it took until season three for Black Mirror to tackle proper zombies, but this very original take on the genre made it worth the wait. Men Against Fire cleverly uses the tropes of zombie fiction to lull us into one perception of events before turning things completely on their head in its second half.
By the end, it has transformed from a familiar runaround of a well-worn genre into a condemnation of war and a thoroughly repulsive look at - and warning against - humanity's inherent xenophobic tendencies. A very timely message, considering all that's going on in the world.
