Daredevil Season 3 May Have Avengers Connection

Let there be darkness... and a buttload of Easter eggs.

The trailer (and release date) for Daredevil Season 3 was unveiled on Wednesday, and it's fair to say that it's shaping up to be something spectacular.

Between building up a story to take inspiration from Born Again - considered one of the best Marvel stories of all time - and ushering Matt Murdock's return to the MCU, it's fair to say that the excitement has been building surround this season for a while now. The fact that fans only have to wait another month before it releases makes it all that little bit better too.

However, for all the quality of Marvel's Netflix shows, one of the biggest criticisms surrounding them (and no, it isn't the 13 episode format this time) is that their connections to the mainstream MCU never really amount to anything. Sure, they take place in the same world that Thanos has just had his way with, but finding genuine connections other than the odd throwaway line is difficult, to say the least.

Which brings us to Avengers Tower. The building dominates the New York skyline in the MCU, and yet it's never seen in either Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or Iron Fist, even when it should. Fans had even gone to the effort of retroactively inserting the building into specific sequences during the shows, but now, thanks to one of the new posters for Season 3, they may not have to do so for much longer.

Towards the upper left of the above poster, the silhouette of Avengers Tower can be seen covered just behind a thick red mist. While it's not a complete confirmation that Daredevil Season 3 will look to step up the nods and winks to the wider MCU, it does perhaps intimate that Marvel TV intend to reiterate that their shows all exist in the same reality as their cinematic siblings, and that maybe - however unlikely it may be - they'll address the build up that led to the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
