It’s been a while since we’ve heard any Community news since it’s mid-season hiatus. But on Sunday, star Joel McHale told TVGuide that “a character from the show will die.”
Well that’s pretty ominous. It is of course completely unknown who that character is, but according to McHale it is “someone you see a lot. And he dies in the mid-afternoon.” Well thanks Jeff, that really narrows it down.
NBC has not yet announced a return date for Community, which still has a few episodes left to air from Season 3. Among these is a Law and Order type episode that will feature the characters trying to solve the mystery of the sabotaged science experiment. Maybe someone from Greendale will die then? Classes happen in the mid-afternoon, it must be someone in class. Community why must you do these things to us?
The show is expected to return in the spring, but it could be a lot longer before we see any episodes, and it’s future after that remains uncertain.

I wouldn’t put it past Community to nix a more central character like Pierce, or maybe that D&D kid, Neil, that almost committed suicide or Vicki, especially since NBC refuses to stop fulfilling the evil corporation cliche by keeping these episodes off the air, perhaps permanently. I feel like Magnitude (pop-pop!) or Leonard wouldn’t be worth it. I’m cool as long as it isn’t Troy, Abed, or Annie’s Boobs (the monkey).

I doubt they’d kill off any of the principle cast. (And if they did, I assume it would be Chang.) I’m betting it’s Leonard. I feel like all of the other familiar faces would be too young/random to kill off on a comedy show. (Like Fat Neil, Starburns, Vickie, or Magnitude.) Magnitude in particular is so much fun I can’t imagine why they’d kill him. Still, although I don’t particularly care for Leonard’s character, I don’t really want him killed off. :( Maybe it’ll be the monkey.

Thank goodness Community is coming back! I first thought it would be Leonard too but since he is the obvious choice, maybe it will be someone else.
