Death Note is one of the most beloved anime series of all time. Despite being less than forty episodes in length, the series has stood the test of time purely through its exceptional quality.
From the very first episode, this anime set a remarkably fast pace that never let up. The cat-and-mouse game between L and Light made for a fascinating dynamic that kept viewers hooked to their screens, and the exceptional dialogue created a great level of intensity without the need for excessive violence.
In tandem with its dark subject matter, Death Note also possessed a grimy and realisitic colour palette that made the more super natural elements come vividly to life, and such a tone was heightened still further by the terrific score.
Given these factors, Death Note is an anime that sticks in the mind for both casual and hardcore fans of the genre.
