Doctor Who: 11 Iconic Things From Matt Smith's Era

10. The Green Sonic

Oh boy, the green sonic screwdriver. When the blue one melted I think we all collectively gasped and let out an overdramatic €˜NOOOOOOOO!!€™ because that was the last of Ten that we had. Now we had this new guy, in a new console, with a new screwdriver? Who does this guy think he is?? Well, the Doctor, that€™s who. The sonic screwdriver is always the most important thing that the Doctor carries around with him, mostly because it saves valuable show minutes trying to unlock things. Either way, this was a new screwdriver for a new Doctor. Do I think it meant anything? Not really. I don€™t think that the new screwdriver€™s color meant anything, or the fact that it has a claw at the end really means much. I truly believe that the reason Moffat had the blue screwdriver melt was to, again, cut us off completely from Russell T. Davies€™ era. I€™m not saying this as a bad thing whatsoever €“ he did what he thought was right, and this way, now, instead of trying to distinguish screwdrivers, there is clearly one for nine and ten, eleven, and Twelve. For collectors, that just means they have to spend more money. Good job BBC.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
