Doctor Who: 6 Things We Learned In Kill The Moon

Big turning points for humanity and the Doctor and Clara's relationship.

Doctor Who gave audiences everything this week. In Kill The Moon we had scares, drama, a moral dilemma, gripping performances and a unique alien tale. There was a lot to love in this episode, which was arguably the strongest entry in series eight yet. This week we learned two things; a major turning point in humanity's fate and a massive turning point in the relationship between the Doctor and Clara. We've seen the Doctor being ruthless before but this was a whole other level and his actions have threatened to destroy his relationship with his companion. As for humanity's fate, Kill The Moon served as a prequel to all the wondrous things humanity has done in the future presented on the show. In the classic era and Nu Who, we've witnessed a mighty human empire that stretches across the stars. What we saw in this episode was an Earth that had endured the terror of countless alien threats and was ready leave the planet for something greater. So having enjoyed the thrills and scares that this very Gothic horror tale served up, let's look at the six things we learned in Kill The Moon and ask what some of them mean for the future of the show.
