Doctor Who: 10 Best Aliens Of The New Series

Celebrating the species that make Who what it is.

Barring the ability to travel in time and space, there's probably one thing that makes Doctor Who quite so exciting and imaginative and, well, Doctor Who - the aliens! After all, one of them is the main character, and he tends to battle and outwit the rest of them when they're after world domination, or world extermination, or some random scheme like trying to turn planets into fuel via nuclear war... Russell T Davies told a story about meetings when they were bringing the show back which he expected to be all about budgets and boring stuff, and all the exeutives were asking was whether or not they had enough monsters. There have been a huge number of new aliens introduced in the new series. Some have admittedly been more successful than others, but that success has been phenomenal when it has occured. Some of the creatures introduced have become ingrained in pop culture, and have definitely contributed to a fantastic revival. These many aliens deserve to be celebrated, so it's time to look at the best of the best from the new series. This won't involve Classic enemies, so there's no appearance from the likes of the Daleks, and anything from Earth itself is out too on the grounds of not being an alien, so no Lazarus monster (thought that's probably less of a disappointment). With that out the way, let's begin.
