Doctor Who: 10 Characters Ready For A Spin-Off

9. The Meddling Monk

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the Doctor says you absolutely can't change history (not one line)! But obviously the Doctor is just a huge buzzkill, and really when you're a Time Lord you can do pretty much whatever you want. This is why I advocate a spinoff involving the hugely enjoyable Meddling Monk, who quite unfairly hasn't been featured in a serial since 1966. The Meddling Monk is such a great character, because he's the first time we really question the assertion the Doctor makes about changing history. Is this just a personal choice the Doctor makes, like not eating meat or riding a bike to work instead of driving? Or is this some legitimate time/space law that all Time Lords must follow or risk disastrous consequences? We can go on a mischievous romp with the old monk, watching as he introduces Youtube to ancient Japan or ATMs to pre-Revolutionary France. Really, the possibilities are virtually limitless. In fact, I can't think of one good reason why we're not watching this show right now.
