Doctor Who: 10 Fictional Characters The Doctor Should Meet

He's met Robin Hood. Who's next?

Series 8€™s Robot of Sherwood caused some controversy by having fictional character Robin Hood turn out to be real and now Santa Claus himself is paying a visit to the Christmas Special. How can this be? Some fans have short memories as there is definite form for this. The Doctor has dallied with fictional characters before, after all, from Cyrano De Bergerac and Gulliver in The Land of Fiction to Pauline Fowler and the Mitchell brothers in Dimensions in Time, and let€™s not forget the sly reference to Bernard Quatermass in Remembrance of the Daleks. Now the Doctor Who world isn€™t ours, unless our world really did have Mondas pop by in 1986 and no one noticed. No Prime Minister was killed by Slitheen and the US President wasn€™t vaporised by the Master. The Whoniverse is fictional so is there really any reason why fictional characters can't be real in its world too? Instead of denying this possibility, why not take advantage of it? Is the appearance of Sherlock Holmes or Scooby Doo any less believable than the Moon turning out to be a giant chicken egg or trees saving the world? With that in mind, here are 10 fictional characters that would go down a storm in Doctor Who.
