Doctor Who: 10 Greatest Villains From The Moffat Era So Far

The best of the bunch.

Villains. You either love them, love to hate them or in some cases just simply hate them. A good villain can make or break an episode, through being captivating, entertaining or creating electrifying television by challenging the Doctor. They can make even the worst script watchable and enhance the best so that it goes from being good to being out of this world (or at least fantastic anyway, seeing as 'out of this world' is pretty standard in a show about space travel€). They often manage to be more threatening than hordes of an alien species and can rival even the best monsters in the antagonist stakes. A great deal of the villains in the current era have been controversial. Whether that€™s due to changes to classic villains (the Master becoming Missy, the Great Intelligence being more vengeous than before) or a new series villain pushing the Doctor to the limit (Eleven killing Solomon the Trader), they€™ve often been huge talking points and the cause of debate after debate on message boards. This list is going to look at and celebrate the times they€™ve got it right as it counts down the best villains of the Moffat era so far. This article will be looking at the individual antagonists, rather than species of monsters, so there€™ll be no Daleks, Silence or Weeping Angels. Who there will be, however€ well, you€™ll just have to read on to find out!
