Doctor Who: 10 Reasons To Miss The Eleventh Doctor

10. Matt's Got The Character Down To A Tee Now

Matt Smith and David Tennant When the Eleventh Doctor first rose from the smoking TARDIS craving apples, he told us all he was still cooking. And whilst we can all differ in our opinions of when Matt Smith really felt like the Doctor, there's no denying that he certainly feels like the Doctor now. Compare his first meeting with Amy to the Doctor we've seen in Series 7: it's really felt like the Eleventh Doctor has grown as a character in his own right, and not just as an update on an old one. Smith's given his Doctor nuances - from his dancing to his "embarrassed" face - that future Doctors will look to for influence in their first episodes, and whether it's a slight improvisation, or just the way he talks to the TARDIS, we've got used to a whole new face. We've still been learning things about the Eleventh Doctor, even four years into his reign, and there are facets of the character that we've not even touched on. It's so exciting to welcome Peter Capaldi, but it's equally such a great shame that we'll never see certain sides of Matt's Doctor. Well, maybe not for another ten years...
