Doctor Who: 10 Roles That Prove The Perfect Casting Of Peter Capaldi

8. Tristan Campbell - The Vicar of Dibley

The Vicar of DibleyPeter Capaldi "Christmas makes you do crazy things." This should be a Doctor Who tagline, of course, but it happens to be said by a charming television producer named Tristan Campbell in "The Christmas Lunch Incident" episode. We first meet Tristan with a magnificent head of hair that makes it slightly difficult for him to fit through the door. The vicar, who doesn't date because it requires too much waxing, swoons immediately. She flirts transparently and he responds obliviously. In his second appearance, he turns up on Christmas and proposes marriage. It's impassioned, it's florid, it's eloquent and it's...a rehearsal. He leaves for a mo' and returns once Geraldine has dolled herself up with his newly-acquired fiancee. Just magnificent.

That's Kaki pronounced like the pants, thank you very much, my family nickname and writing name. I am a Red Sox-loving, Doctor Who-quoting, Shaara-reading walking string quartet of a Mormon writer from Boston. I currently work 40 hours at a stressful desk job with a salary that lets me pick up and travel to places like Ireland or Philadelphia. I have no husband or kids, but I have five nephews to keep me entertained. When not writing, working or eating too much Indian food, I'm always looking for something new to learn, whether it's French or family history.
