A shining new chapter for the world's longest running sci-fi programme began last year when Peter Capaldi finally burst on to our screens as the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor. The good news is that his era at the honourable helm of time and space is only just getting started and he definitely hit the ground running with a jam packed first series which culminated in the shock reveal of Michelle Gomez as the first female incarnation of our hero's arch nemesis, the Master. Capaldi's debut string of adventures were widely cited as one of the best series of NuWho to date so it's certainly going to be a tough act to follow. From what's been revealed about Series 9 thus far, however, it's only going to get bigger and better.
