Doctor Who: 24 Doctors Ranked From Worst To Best

"Splendid fellows... all 22 of you."

Every fan loves to play the game of ranking the Doctors and fierce debate normally breaks out about a writer's choices. Fans feel these things deeply and they love their Doctors dearly. Growing up with a Doctor who felt as important as you as a parent, it is understandable that a fan will react with emotion when someone places their incarnation near the bottom. However objective they can try to be, your first Doctor is like your first love and will always occupy a special place in your Whovian heart(s). Also, many factors can affect the effectiveness of the Doctor at any one time. Being a great actor helps to make a great Doctor but the quality of scripts and the direction a particular producer decides to take the show will also impact massively. If you don't like Earth based tales then Jon Pertwee won't appeal to you and, if you don't like comedy, much of Tom Baker and Matt Smith will leave you cold. However, it is possible to investigate each incarnation and weight up their pros and cons and rank them. However, though Peter Capaldi is called the Twelfth Doctor, there have been far more than 12 versions broadcast over the years. One offs such as the Valeyard, War Doctor, Watcher and Dream Lord are also aspects of the same Time Lord while on film, Peter Cushing gave a charming version of Dr Who - in fact, there are 24 different broadcast versions of our hero. So without further ado... Geromino!
