Doctor Who: 5 Reasons Missy Should Become A Recurring Villain

The master of villainy is back, but for how long?

As both Steven Moffat and Michelle Gomez have said in interviews, Missy is coming back for Series 9. Despite being a controversial and divisive incarnation of the Doctor€™s longstanding archenemy and childhood friend, the Master, Missy was a hit with a large portion of the fanbase who will be delighted to see the self-proclaimed Queen of Evil back to menace the Twelfth Doctor. In fact, there€™s even the possibility she might become a recurring villain and just pop up at random points over the course of the next series. While this was the Master's initial purpose in the Jon Pertwee era, in which he popped up in a long succession of stories after his initial appearance, a number of the series in which the character has appeared time and time again have been met with mixed reviews. They€™ve had some fantastic stories, such as Terror of the Autons, The Daemons, The Deadly Assassin, Logopolis, Survival, to name a few, but they've not been without their weaker episodes, too. However, the potential to have the character as a recurring villain could be a great choice for NuWho, be it as Michelle Gomez€™ deranged and hugely entertaining Missy or a different incarnation entirely. And, without further ado, here are 5 reasons why that would be.
