Doctor Who: 7 Better Fan Theories On Clara Oswin Oswald

7. She€™s A Time Lady

clara doc who Yeah, the requisite theory that appears whenever there€™s a new supporting character. They€™re a survivor of the Time War, they€™re a chameleon-arched version, they€™re an earlier regeneration of X, they€™re a later regeneration of Y. The list goes on. Clara€™s appearances across time and space lead to fans arguing that she was a Time Lady trying to break out of the time lock surrounding Gallifrey and only breaking through at certain points or certain times. This meant she never really died, but the bodies or forms she€™d manifested were destroyed. Of course, this lost a bit of plausibility when she was sharing the TARDIS with the Doctor properly, until the significance of her rings came into play €“ then she became a chameleon-arched Time Lady along the lines of Professor Yana in Utopia or John Smith in the Family of Blood. Would it have been better than the answer we got in the finale? Probably not €“ after all, the €˜X is a Time Lord!€™ has been used twice in the new series, with the Master and with River Song. It would have been repetitive, but definitely would have fit into the universe of the show better. Plausibility: 3/10 (Moffat doesn€™t seem to be a fan of bringing back full-bore Time Lords, just his half-versions with River and Melody) Popularity: 6/10 (The fandom is interested in pretty much anything that might shed light on the Doctor during the Time War)
