Doctor Who: 7 Reasons Why The Twelfth Doctor Actually Sucks

7. He Is Not Original

So, the Twelfth Doctor is an anti-social sort of guy who can't stand being near a crowd and rubs people up the wrong way because of his arrogance and lack of care for their well being. But in a pinch, he is also the one to count on the most. His brilliance will save the day. It is not clear if he will save people because deep down he is actually a good man or rather because he needs a distraction from his own boredom and obsessive drive to solve a puzzle. But hey... wait a minute... that's Doctor Gregory House from House M.D. And that's The Mentalist, Patrick Jane. And that's L from Death Note. And that's every other character that suspiciously sounds like Sherlock Holmes. The Doctor has always been compared to Sherlock in the past but he was always a unique personality on his own, in the way he dress or how each of is incarnations interacted with people. One of the most exciting aspects of meeting a new Doctor is seeing what unique attributes he brings to the table, but it almost feels like Peter Capaldi could replace Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock. In fact, the Doctor and Sherlock could swap names in their respective shows and it wouldn't be any different. It would be OK if TV and movies weren't already swarming with Sherlocks, but what's even worse is that Steven Moffat is the one that created the Twelfth Doctor. Did he just mix up the scripts of his shows? Steven Moffat has been accused of being lazy for a while now, but this is a new... middle. Hmph.
