Doctor Who: 8 Reasons It Will Be Better After Matt Smith

matt-smith_doctor_who11 After much gnashing of teeth it was recently revealed that Peter Capaldi has been cast to replace Matt Smith as everyone's favorite time and space travelling Doctor. This of course has led to a lot of online hand-wringing over the future of the show. This is a common occurrence any time The Doctor regenerates. We typically spend several years getting to know The Doctor and when it comes time to replace him everyone is quick to declare " The show can't possibly be as good as it was with (insert your favorite Doctor here)". The new Doctor is typically greeted with trepidation. This is shortly followed by acceptance and a statement along the lines of "Oh, I see. they totally got that choice right. Yeah, this show's still pretty awesome." Well now we are back to step one. Everyone is up in arms, ready to write the show off before Matt even says his goodbyes. I for one am not ready to do this. In fact, I believe now is a time to get excited about the future of the show. Sure, it has a few issues but there is much more going for this show than many want to give it credit. So lets explore some of those reasons and maybe you'll find yourself a little more excited for what's in store.
