Doctor Who: 8 Things That Must Happen In Series 12

7. Give The Companions Center Stage

Doctor Who
BBC

There were a number of moments in the Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat saga of Doctor Who, where the companions became the driving force of the story whilst The Doctor lingered humbly on the periphery. Think of Turn Left and A Good man Goes to War as fair examples of this. And what better time than now to revolutionise that type of narrative.

The assistants of yesteryear have always been cool. But the current gang of Ryan, Yaz and Graham are particularly enthralling because, from the start, they have not had a very nice time of things. And yes, there have been some great moments of development and character exploration in the series just gone by. But with what the audience are given to work with, this could easily be taken a step further.

Whether the next series is ten episodes or 13, why not put just three aside and allocate one for each of Doc's latest companions! The result could make for some thrilling drama and some memorable moments to rival that of any of The Doctor's own personal escapades.
