8. €œDon€™t ever think you€™re capable of that.€

don't think you're capable of that This is one of the moments when we see a flash of the €œDream Lord.€ The three Ponds tell the Doctor to follow a mysterious summons, and he refuses. He tells them he€™s sending them home, then he sits down and makes them come to him. Then he delivers the above line, and what we can see and hear in him at that moment is intense disdain. A brilliant mind, an alien creature with depths we can€™t imagine, someone who technically qualifies as a god, and we get a glimpse of what he might really of us. We will never be as clever, crafty, or manipulative as he can be. It€™s an ugly moment, and one that makes you wonder about the Doctor.
