It seems like forever since the Doctor last graced our screens, but after months of waiting series 7 is just around the corner and it’s hard not to get just a little bit excited. Why though? Why should we be counting down the hours until the channel logo fades and the first forty-five minutes of frantic Doctor Who action bombards the senses? If you don’t know the answer to that question yourself, then here are just ten of reasons why you should be excited for Saturday’s series kick-off.
1. Scary Daleks
It is safe to say that the Daleks have gone from the ultimate adversary of the Doctor to rather sub-standard, easily defeated tin cans on wheels and air jets. However in series opener, Asylum of The Daleks, Matt Smith has virtually promised that Steven Moffat has brought the fear factor back to the worn-down mechanicisms of evil genius Davros’ creations.
“We have made the Daleks scary again, something I am not sure we got right before,” Matt Smith said in an interview with TV Guide.
We hope he is right as it is about time the Daleks were brought in from the cold, and according to early reviews, Moffat might just have succeeded in giving them a new lease of life.
